This brand new production directed by Diane Paulus with set designs by Ricardo Hernandez with Andrew Jameson as Production Manager recently opened at Glyndebourne in May featuring a range of stunning sets and outstanding performances.
At time of publishing, you can still book performances of Carmen here.
Here are some lovely production photos taken by Richard Hubert Smith.
Here is a photo of the standing ovation the show received on its opening night (photo with kind permission of PM Andrew Jameson).
We thought it would be nice to share some photos from the Model Box for each act against the actual production photos.
The production has been set in a present-day military regime (location or state not specified) but beautifully evocative of hot and oppressive world in which Carmen and Jose’s story unfolds.
As you can see there is an impressively large set change between Act 1 and Act 2 and it was Ed Wilson and Leejay Burnell’s privilege to witness the fantastically choreographed and executed interval change from backstage: The team at Glyndebourne absolutely nailed this change and from a CTS point of view lovely to see the set we built working so well and being entirely fit for purpose!

Some ‘Fit Up’ Photos
Having seen what it looks like from the audience point of view we thought you would like to see some images taken by our team that were involved in the fit-up of the show in Glyndebourne (including Jon Hill and Steph Tucci).
